You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.

Everyday Leadership Lab Terms of Service

Last updated: March 22, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Everyday Leadership Lab (the “Publication”), including posts, emails, comments, and community features hosted on Substack.

Everyday Leadership Lab is a subsidiary publication of Getting Better Everyday (GBE), owned and operated by GBE Leadership Media, LLC (“Publisher,” “we,” “us,” “our”). We are based in Washington, DC.

By subscribing (free or paid), reading, commenting, or otherwise using the Publication, you agree to these Terms.

1) Who we are

Publisher: GBE Leadership Media, LLC (Washington, DC)
Publication: Everyday Leadership Lab (a Getting Better Everyday publication)
Contact: everydayleadershiplab@substack.com

2) Substack’s platform terms also apply

This Publication is hosted on Substack. Your use of Substack (including your account, payments, and platform features) is also governed by Substack’s terms and policies.

These Terms cover Publication-specific rules (content use, community behavior, subscriber expectations). Substack’s terms cover platform-level rules (accounts, payment rails, platform functionality).

3) Eligibility

You must meet Substack’s minimum age requirements and be able to form a binding contract where you live (or have parent/guardian permission where required).

4) What we provide (and what we don’t)

Everyday Leadership Lab provides leadership education, tools, frameworks, and commentary.

Not professional advice

Content is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, medical advice, mental health counseling, tax advice, or financial advice. Reading or subscribing does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional-client relationship.

If you need professional advice, consult a qualified professional who can evaluate your specific situation.

No guaranteed outcomes

We don’t promise results. Your outcomes depend on your context and execution.

5) Subscriptions, billing, cancellations, and refunds

We may offer free and paid subscriptions.

Billing and renewals

Paid subscriptions generally renew automatically unless canceled through your Substack settings.

Cancellations

If you cancel, you typically keep access through the end of your billing period, subject to Substack’s platform rules.

Refunds

Refunds are handled through Substack’s systems and are at the Publisher’s discretion, unless required by law or platform policy.

To request a refund, email everydayleadershiplab@substack.com with:

  • the email used for your subscription

  • what you purchased (monthly/annual/founding, etc.)

  • the reason for your request

Chargebacks / disputes

If you dispute a charge with your bank/card issuer (“chargeback”), the dispute is handled through Substack and its payment processors. We may suspend access to paid benefits while a dispute is pending.

6) Community standards (comments, replies, chat)

We’re building a real community, not a comment section fire.

You agree not to post content that is:

  • harassing, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, or sexually exploitative

  • doxxing or invasive of privacy

  • spam, scams, impersonation, or unwanted promotion

  • unlawful or infringing on someone else’s rights

  • confidential information about your employer, colleagues, clients, or anyone else

We may remove content, restrict participation, or cancel subscriptions (free or paid) if we believe you violated these standards or harmed community safety.

7) User content you submit

If you comment, reply, or submit content, you are responsible for what you post.

By posting user content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Publication (for example: displaying your comment, quoting it with attribution in a future post, or moderating it).

If you do not want something shared, do not post it publicly.

8) Intellectual property and acceptable sharing

Unless otherwise stated, the Publication’s content (writing, frameworks, templates, audio/video, and branding) is owned by GBE Leadership Media, LLC or licensed to us.

You may

  • share links to posts

  • quote short excerpts with clear attribution to “Everyday Leadership Lab” and/or “Getting Better Everyday”

You may not (without written permission)

  • republish full posts (especially paid content)

  • distribute paid content to non-subscribers

  • scrape, bulk-copy, or archive content at scale

  • sell, license, or commercialize our content or frameworks

  • use our name/logo in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation

9) Third-party links

We may link to third-party content or resources. We do not control or guarantee third-party accuracy, security, or policies.

10) Changes to the Publication or Terms

We may change posting frequency, formats, features, subscription tiers, or pricing at any time, subject to Substack’s rules and applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11) Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Publication is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free delivery.

12) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Publication.

If liability is found, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for the Publication in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

13) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of:

  • your misuse of the Publication

  • your violation of these Terms

  • your submitted content

  • your violation of law or third-party rights

14) Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes will be in courts located in Washington, DC, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
